Sparrow Studios is available for rent as a venue, workshop space, and gathering space. We have 2 separate rooms: the aerial side, which can act as a venue, and the Clown Annex.

Clown Annex Rentals:
The space is approximately 25 feet by 18 feet. There are up to 15 chairs available for use. The floor can either be mats (no shoes allowed) or we can roll those up to provide a hard floor (shoes ok!). It’s a great space for physical workshops, one-off classes, or small gatherings. As of October 2024, the rate is either 25% of door charge, if you’re charging a fee for the event, OR $10 per hour, whichever is greater. Sliding scale rental rates are available for those providing sliding scale rates for attendees.

Venue Rentals:
The venue is a convertible space with a 20x20 stage area, aerial rigging, and a modest lighting and sound system. Seating capacity is about 49 attendees depending on performance space and audience configuration. As of October 2024 the rate is a 70/30 ticket sales split, meaning 30% of ticket sales are paid to the studio for use of the space, use of equipment such as lighting/sound, set up/tear down time, and staffing a producer.

Other Rentals:
Send us an email with your rental proposal and we’ll see if we can accomodate!

ACCESSIBILITY: There are no stairs inside or at the entrance to the studio. Usually the floor mats are rolled up for shows, but if they are not, use caution stepping onto and off of the 1.5 inch flexiroll mats. Please refrain from wearing outside shoes on these mats unless a condition prevents you from removing or changing them. There are 2 gender-neutral bathrooms on site. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are not considered accessible for wheelchairs.

MASKING POLICY:  Sparrow Studios is currently masking optional.  we are still asking students and audience members to stay home if they feel at all sick or have been exposed to someone who may have COVID-19.

We strive to create a safe, welcoming space for artists to create and for audiences to  experience arts and culture; the staff, teachers and users of the space will honor the  space and the objects within it; to have an open mind and respect all people from all walks of life; to work in community and to encourage thoughtful, respectful and  solution/evolution-oriented dialogue. We do not tolerate an environment of fear, intimidation or disrespect. Violent or abusive  speech or actions will not be tolerated under any circumstances, even within the  context of performance. No person will be mistreated because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, political affiliation, scientific views, immigration status or  religious faith.
